Tired of looking in the mirror and seeing what you see? Do you think your nose is too big, your wrinkles too deep, your jowls are sagging? Thousands of patients today are looking for minimally invasive procedures that can repair skin damage caused by aging. Multitudes of men and women benefit from noninvasive treatments that help them feel more confident. If you’re diagnosed with a skin condition or damage that causes sagging skin, wrinkles, or age spots, you have affordable options.

Did you know that the latest stem cell treatments, human growth hormone or stem cell therapies and approaches and ongoing stem cell therapy research focused on anti-aging fields has created huge interest around the world? And with good reason. Technologies like stem cell gene therapy and adult stem cell therapy and even cord blood stem cell therapy, researchers and doctors around the world can now offer alternative treatments to surgery for cosmetic anti-aging purposes.

If you’re not interested in stem cell therapy, consider fat transfer. Fat transfer medical procedures help to effectively ‘plump’ tissues and skin in areas that have lost elasticity and smoothness caused by general aging. Fat transfers remove fat from other areas of the body and inject them into areas in the face. This helps reduce or eliminate signs of sunken skin and loss of skin elasticity.

Both fat transfer and micro fat transfer procedures are used in facial rejuvenation techniques during eyelid surgery and some facelifts.  The technique helps soften bony areas and reduces depth of lines and wrinkles.

Explore your options for the latest in antiaging techniques and facilities abroad at PlacidWay.com, your leading medical provider and resource for medical travel abroad.

Have you heard of Da Vinci? No, not the famous painter, but the famous, high-tech robotic surgical equipment. If you haven’t, you’re in for an eye-opening surprise. Robotic surgery offers several forms of robotic equipment, such as robotic-assisted laparoscopic, endoscopic, and thoracoscopy surgical procedures. Robotic surgery involves a combination of computer-assisted technologies with the finest and newest surgical tools. The method offers access to different areas of the body through the use of special scopes and equipment. This equipment is NOT totally controlled by a robot, but by specially trained surgeons who use a monitor and hand attachments in the operating room.

Da Vinci robotic surgery makes use of computerized medical technologies and robotics that literally mimic hand movements of a surgeon through the use of robotic arms and instruments. This enables surgeons to provide extremely precise and fine movements in surgical capabilities. Today, Da Vinci robotic surgery is used for:

  • Cardiovascular surgery
  • Gynecology
  • Endocrine surgery
  • Urology
  • General surgery

Where do you find Da Vinci? More fine hospitals around the world are taking advantage of robotic surgery, including the U.S., Great Britain and Australia, as well as countries like Turkey, Jordan and locations throughout Southeast Asia.

Da Vinci robotic surgery offers huge benefits to patients undergoing surgical procedures; less blood loss, pain, and scarring. The method offers most patients shorter recovery and recuperation and reduces risk of infection and complications.

For more information regarding Da Vinci robotic surgery, and where you can find it abroad, visit PlacidWay.com, a leading medical resource and provider based in Denver, Colorado.

Millions of people around the world are drug addicts. Not all of them want to get well, but some of them do. The problem is, if you’re a drug addict, you may not be in a position to find treatment by yourself. Cocaine addicts are just a small portion of the population who want help, but don’t know where, or how, to get it.

Kicking any drug habit takes grit and determination. Cocaine substance abuse treatment typically take between one and nine months, depending on the individual.

What do you look for in a rehab program?
Here are a few tips:

* Look for a program that offers treatment, counseling, support, compassion and guidance.

* Successful programs should offer fully accredited physicians, psychologists, psychiatrists, addiction treatment specialists and psychotherapy experts (staff size depends on location and size of facility).

* Find a rehab facility that focuses on specific types of drug abuse, and takes into consideration the length of time the individual has been abusing such drugs.

* If possible, find a facility that offers post-treatment support and encouragement and follow-up with former addicts.

Yes, that’s a tall order to fill. Places around the world offer some of the best and newest approaches to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as other self-destructive disorders and behaviors including eating disorders and gambling addiction.

Find addiction treatment centers around the world, including Russia, Ukraine, Switzerland, that offer effective treatment for less money  and shorter waiting lists than those found in the U.S. For more information about international addiction treatment centers abroad, visit PlacidWay.com, an international medical provider based in Denver, Colorado.

Most people don’t realize the dangers of obesity until they’re sitting in their doctor’s office receiving shocking news. Diabetes? Heart  damage? Joint damage? Each of these conditions results from obesity for many individuals. However, you can reduce your risk of dangerous and even life-threatening conditions through a number of bariatric procedures.

However, don’t think that the surgery itself is all you need to do. Bariatric surgery is often recommended for severely obese individuals, most especially those unable to lose weight through normal diet changes and exercise. Keep in mind that bariatric surgery is often a last ditch effort and requires dedication and serious considerations on the part of the patient. Patients undergoing any type of bariatric procedure must be willing, dedicated and diligent about changing their eating and lifestyle habits. This is the only way to reach optimal results.

Gastric bypass, gastric sleeve, sleeve gastrectomy, adjustable gastric band or Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgical procedures are just a few options. Bariatric and weight loss facilities and specialists around the world offer affordable, effective and lifesaving gastric bypass procedures. Look to Mexico, or the world-renowned obesity and bariatric centers in South Korea.

Save money, and possibly your life, by carefully researching your options when it comes to bariatric surgical procedures and locations. For more information regarding bariatric surgical procedures, surgeons and facilities abroad, check out PlacidWay, a growing and respected medical resource and provider located in Denver, Colorado.

Sara didn’t feel comfortable with her nose. Her friends told her it looked fine, but she was never convinced. She thought the tip looked like it was melting. Sure, her friends laughed, but Sara was serious. She grew more and more self-conscious.

Eventually, Sara decided that she needed a nose job. A nose job, known in medical terms as rhinoplasty, is a popular procedure in cosmetic reconstructions. People unhappy with the shape of their nose can change the shape of many aspects of their nose by undergoing rhinoplasty. Several popular procedures include:

  • Changing your nose size
  • Reducing the width at the bridge of the nose
  • Altering the profile of your nose
  • Correcting nostril size
  • Creating symmetry for the nose

Sara looked around in the states and realized that a nose job could cost up to $8,000. No way could she afford that. She had been saving for a trip to South America and decided to look there for a quality, experienced and educated cosmetic surgeon. She found more than a handful of excellent cosmetic surgeons in Brazil and Argentina, where she planned to visit. Costs for a rhinoplasty procedure there included surgeon and hospital fees, and anesthesia and prescription medicines (if they were needed).

Sara did her homework and researched several facilities and cosmetic surgeons online at a medical resource and provider’s website. Contacting the doctors was easy, and after speaking to three excellent and highly qualified plastic surgeons in South America, she chose one. Now, Sara looks in the mirror and smiles, and her friends are amazed at the change in Sara’s self-esteem and self-confidence.

For information about rhinoplasty and cosmetic facilities abroad, visit PlacidWay, an international medical resource and provider based in Denver, Colorado.

Accreditation shows quality, and in healthcare environments, guarantees that facilities have met minimum standards and guidelines offered by various domestic and international quality boards.

For example, individuals desire quality in healthcare, whether for dental, cosmetic, bariatric or other treatments and surgical procedures. Patients deserve to know that staff is trained, facilities are clean and that procedures follow standards that reduce chances of error, infection or negligence.

Medical travelers must take the time to assess standards of care in foreign destinations. Take into consideration the following factors:

  • Education and certification of facility medical staff
  • Continuing educational opportunities for medical staff
  • Track record of the clinic or hospital
  • Infection control measures
  • Potential risk of tropical disease/infections

Whether you’re seeking alternative cancer treatments in Turkey or the latest in spine surgery technology from South Korea, increased mobility with a knee or hip replacement surgical procedure in India, or dental implants in Mexico, make sure the facility you choose is accredited.

Facilities with accreditations granted by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and/or the Joint Commission International (JCI) receive higher ratings, income, and interest from medical travelers. An International Organization for Standardization (ISO) rating accredits reputable medical institutions, no matter where they are located.

For more information regarding accreditation and credentials of medical facilities abroad, visit PlacidWay.com, an international medical resource and provider that offers global travelers the best in medical and dental care services.

Kathryn, a 32-year old British citizen, was diagnosed with breast cancer. As a waitress, she had a health insurance policy, but it offered a smaller cap limit than she needed. The policy paid for surgery to remove the cancerous tumor from her breast, but the surgery and the resulting stay in the hospital capped out her policy. She still needed coverage for thousands of pounds worth of post-surgical treatments, including chemotherapy.

Kathryn and her mother researched her options. The problem was that drug therapy costs were astronomical, amounting to thousands of pounds – one drug would cost almost £20,000 a month -money that she didn’t have. She’d heard about cancer treatment in India and other locations, and dug into research.

No one should have to choose between cancer treatment and financial ruin. She and her mother looked for cancer therapy abroad, in locations such as Mexico, India and Ukraine, hoping to find affordable yet quality cancer care treatments that would offer her the best chance of remission and health. She even considered alternative treatments for cancer through stem cell therapy. At least she had options, which offered her some hope for her formerly hopeless situation.

Kathryn took advantage of the growing popularity of medical tourism to access information regarding the qualifications, experience, and expertise of a number of oncology or cancer experts in breast cancer and finally made a decision. She would travel to India, where she could save tens of thousands pounds in her cancer treatment.

For information regarding medical travel for cancer care abroad, visit PlacidWay, an international medical resource and provider. Like Kathryn, you have options for your care.
