If you’re dealing with emotional or physical stress, there may not always be a medical treatment or procedure that can help relieve your discomfort. One thing that may help is natural therapy, which has been around for thousands of years. Many medical destinations, such as those in India, offer patients a variety of natural and holistic therapy based on Ayurveda. Some individuals aren’t too keen on the idea of undergoing a procedure or experiencing a healing period, so natural or holistic therapies are an ideal solution. Examples of natural therapy include:

  • Chinese medicine
  • Herbal medicine
  • Homeopathy
  • Ayurveda

These types of healing use natural essences and plants found throughout the world to remedy many body and mind ailments. Through medical tourism, wellbeing spas and facilities offer pure relaxation and holistic treatments to patients around the world. Here are just some of the types of well-being treatments you can use to enhance your mental state or overall health and beauty:

  • Steam baths
  • Thermal baths
  • Massage – Hot stone and Shiatsu, just to name a few
  • Herbology
  • Acupuncture
  • Aromatherapy

If you want to lose weight or cleanse the body, detoxification treatments at many of the wellness spas around the world will offer results for a fraction of the cost you’ll find in the United States.

Combining relaxing and beneficial natural therapies such as these with the breathtaking scenery and accommodations found in India or Costa Rica or Panama create the ideal getaway. Medical tourism includes a variety of treatments and procedures – even spas and wellbeing retreats. Find out more information regarding the different international destinations and offered packages by visiting PlacidWay.com.

Sara certainly wasn’t happy when she looked in the mirror and saw an old person looking back at her. She wasn’t that old, not really. At 62, she’d always been active, but lately her skin had started to sag, and wrinkles around her eyes and mouth were deepening.  Sara looked around, did some research, and finally decided that what she needed was some skin resurfacing.

She had two choices for skin resurfacing – either laser treatments that erased areas affected by age or the environment, which would produce healthy new skin growth to create a more youthful and smooth appearance. High energy and amplified light waves of carbon dioxides effectively vaporized the top layer of skin with minimal injury or trauma to surrounding skin areas.

Her other alternative was micro-dermabrasion, best for removing deep scars and light wrinkles through chemical peels, which removed the top layer of the skin, revealing smooth and vibrant skin beneath.

Perfection Makeover and Laser Center in Cancun, Mexico was just one of the anti-aging facilities that Sara found abroad using the information and resources on PlacidWay, an international medical provider.  Sara also discovered anti-aging stem cell therapies and minimally invasive procedures to repair skin damage caused by aging.

Locations like Blueprint Health and Benefit in Cape Town, South Africa also tweaked her interest, as did the Esthetique Clinic and Spa in San Jose, Costa Rica. After all, if she was going to do this, she wanted to vacation at the same time. Sara has decided to take the plunge. She can rest assured that whomever she chooses for her antiaging therapy has the experience and qualifications to get the job done right.

ABC News recently reported on the growing number of medical travelers to countries like Poland and China for cosmetic and plastic surgery procedures. Cosmetic and facial reconstruction surgeries in the U.S. are not covered except under certain conditions. What are the most popular procedures being done? The most popular procedures sought these days include Poland for abdominal etching, a buttocks lift in Brazil, all kinds of procedures in South Africa (along with exciting adventures like going on a  safari), and a combination of traditional and holistic procedures available in China.

Arab countries in the Middle East offering facilities such as the Jordan Hospital are increasingly popular for cardiac care, organ transplants and orthopedic procedures. After all,   when travelers can access JCI accredited and state-of-the-art facilities and world-class and experienced surgeons in Jordan and Egypt, why not travel to the Red Sea region, taking advantage of enormous savings on procedures and combining them with a vacation of a lifetime.

Costa Rica continues to draw travelers from around the world for dental and medical services, and it’s not hard to see why. Costa Rica is a lush green country with a variety of landscapes and activities for traveling tourists. With handfuls of facilities accredited by American medical organizations, along with a large number of providers trained in Western countries, Costa Rica medical care also focuses on post-treatment or post-surgical care when they develop their travel packages.

For more information about the treatments, procedures and surgeries offered abroad in countries from South Korea to Turkey, access PlacidWay.com, a leader in resources for medical tourism and medical and dental travelers abroad.

Every year, thousands of men and women take that step to face and treat their addictions, whether it is gambling, drugs, alcohol or prescription medication abuse. In most cases, traditional treatments for substance abuse and drug addiction have involved detox programs where the body is weaned off alcohol, drugs, or the behavior, and include counseling, and in some cases, medications designed to help reduce symptoms of withdrawal. This works for some, and not for others.

What should you look for in a successful rehabilitation or addiction treatment program? Look for a variety of components that include treatment, counseling, support, compassion and guidance.  PlacidWay, a medical tourism portal and resource based in Denver Colorado offers information on international addiction treatment facilities around the world that are affordable, private and effective in the treatment of multiple forms of addiction.

Unfortunately, addiction and treatment facilities in the U.S. are often bursting at the seams with clients, and waiting lists can be as long as 6 months to a year, sometimes more. No one should be denied treatment when they’re most ready to receive it. That’s why PlacidWay has partnered with multiple addiction and treatment centers around the world, such as:

  • Costa Rica Medical Tourism and Retirement Services in San Jose, Costa Rica
  • Ageless Wonders Panama, Panama City, Panama
  • Dr. Vorobiev’s Rehab facilities in Russia and Serbia
  • Arab City for Comprehensive Care, Amman Jordan
  • Rehab in Mexico, Monterrey, Mexico
  • Alliance Medical Global, Shanghai, China
  • Health Greece, Athens, Greece

As you can see, you do have alternatives that are accessible and affordable. Don’t wait for treatment. Contact PlacidWay.com for more information regarding world-class addiction treatment centers abroad. Your life may depend on it.

Dental care includes regular dental checkups. You should never ignore toothaches, abscesses or chipped and broken teeth. Yes, dental care in the U.S. is expensive and costs continue to rise, which has prompted thousands to travel across borders for affordable and quality dental care in locations throughout South America, Asia and Europe. Your dental and cosmetic dental treatment options are endless. Did you realize that an infected tooth or abscess could literally poison your body? For that, and many other reasons, it’s important to take advantage of dental procedures that include everything from filling that cavity to obtaining dentures so that you can eat and speak properly.

Take a vacation and take care of your teeth while you’re there. Benefits of travel and lower medical and dental procedures are available, so take advantage while you can. Don’t just choose any dentist though. Choose dentists and oral or cosmetic surgeons with the training, credentials and certificates that ensure quality care.

In India, qualified dentists should be certified through the Dental Council of India, while in Singapore, dentists should be registered with the College of Dental Surgeons. In Australia, dentists should be registered with the Royal Australian College of Dental Surgeons. Take the time to ask or find out about certification requirements any country you’re interested in. Dentists in Turkey should be certified by organizations that ensure health standards and quality of care such as the Turkish Endodontic Society.

From My Dentist in Mumbai India, to Davincis Dental Designers Group in Costa Rica, to Izmir Dental Clinic in Izmir, Turkey, take the time to research your options. An invaluable service to do so is PlacidWay, an international medical and dental provider and resource for international travelers.

Because dental treatments in the United States are growing increasingly expensive, Americans are turning to cross-border travel to take care of their dental needs. Those seeking traditional dental fillings, extractions, bonding, dental crowns or bridges or complex procedures such as bone grafts or cyst operations find that the costs of cosmetic dentistry are limiting in the U.S.

The same can’t be said of dental services, dental vacations, and destinations south of the border in luxurious locations like Mexico and Costa Rica, but as a side-jaunt of planned vacations to Asian and Central European destinations. Did you know that in the United States, a single tooth extraction might cost up to $650?

Travelers venturing south of the border to Mexico, Costa Rica and even further south into Panama, Guatemala, Columbia or Argentina can save between 50% and 75% on the same procedures, with the same quality as those performed in the United States. Whether you’re looking for teeth whitening or cosmetic dentistry implants or a temporary dental bridge, dental bone implants, or the need to see dental implant specialists for a variety of reasons, it’s about finding excellent dental care at affordable prices.

It’s about needing partial dentures, lower dentures, or complete dentures, all of which may cost thousands of dollars, without having to take out, or being turned down for, a loan. Facilities such as Twoj Dentysta in Poznan, Poland or Costa Rica Dental Health in San Jose, Costa Rica are profiled by PlacidWay, a growing medical tourism information and resource provider. Look for international dentists and dental clinics and facilities that explain detailed procedures, transparent pricing, and qualifications and experience of dentists around the world. Find a wealth of dental vacation or dental travel packages that suit your budget, your desire to explore a new country at PlacidWay.com.

Medical tourism and travel conferences, business summits and meetings around the world place an emphasis on the proliferation of the popularity for medical travel today.  In early May 2011, the second medical travel international business summit will occur in Costa Rica, with 90% of exhibiting spaces already reserved.  To date, 35 lecturers discussing health benefits, facilities, and patient-centered care have signed up, as have 8 countries, with more growing on a daily basis.

Also called the Latin American Congress, the speakers and lecturers who have signed up to present information and resources come from 20 international destinations, discussing medical tourism market opportunities, patient safety and quality, service certification, and medical tourism and medical travel promotion opportunities.

Among the attendees, representatives from the United States, Canada, Mexico, and other Latin American countries will focus on developing relationships with foreign medical providers in order to give patients from around the world not only better prices, but enhanced quality of care.

Costa Rica is a leading destination for medical health tourism and is ranked fourth in the Latin American area for its health system. The U.S. is ranked 36th, which may perhaps explain why growing numbers of Americans have begun to cross borders in all directions for more affordable  medical, vision and dental care and services.

Actually, Costa Rica earns approximately $60 million a year from global travelers and the country is expecting over 2 million visitors as the Baby Boomer generation comes into full swing by 2015.

For more information about the International Business Summit, contact the Council for the International Promotion of Costa Rica Medicine (PROMED) in the U.S. at 1-888-304-8237 or PlacidWay.com

The concept of medical tourism is gaining rapid acceptance around the world, and offers dozens of world-class, accredited and certified services and procedures. While people continue to think of India as the premier medical travel destination (which it continues to be), other countries around the globe are fast catching on.

For example, did you know that vacationers, visitors and retirees visiting or living in Costa Rica for its beautiful surroundings, historic landmarks and plethora of entertainments count on providers like PlacidWay and  Costa Rica Medical Tourism and Retirement Services? They do.

Did you know that Jordan is the only country in the Middle East with a booming healthcare business? U.S. travelers pay one-tenth the cost of surgeries performed in their homeland, while Europeans save at least one-third on costs. Facilities like the Jordan Hospital created their reputation for superlative and groundbreaking cardiac and organ transplant surgeries of the 70s and 80s, to cancer treatments, cosmetic and plastic surgery procedures, fertility treatments and procedures in ophthalmology today.

South Korea continues to be a leader in cutting edge technologies and advances in medicine and health care. State-of-the-art technology and some of the most advanced healthcare facilities in the world encourage medical travelers to facilities in South Korea like the Wooridul Spine Hospital or Meditour Partners in Seoul for medical treatments and procedures in organ transplantation, spine care, cancer therapy treatments, and dental care, plastic and cosmetic surgery. Medical care costs in South Korea are generally ten times less than costs found in the U.S.

That’s just the tip of the iceberg. For more information regarding great destinations for medical travel, access PlacidWay.com.
